Character's Fandom: xxxHolic
Character's Personality: Domeki is what appears to be the polar opposite of Watanuki. While, Watanuki is a complete spaz and flails around at every slight change, Doumeki tends to remain calm and collected. His personality in no way helps make his time any easier. Over confident and sarcastic, he hardly backs down from any challenge presented before him despite the cause. Domeki is usually found keeping to himself, working at the temple, or practicing for the archery club.
Though his distant demeanor hasn't kept him from making friends. Watanuki, while found to be loud and idiotic, is likely Domeki's best friend. Sure they fight, have disagreements, and even claim to dislike each other they both have a bond deeper then either can imagine. Also, while Domeki does care for Watanuki he takes no relent in his ability to con his friend into making him near impossible bento boxes for lunch. Himawari is another common companion, who Domeki seems to tolerate. It's unknown if they is any attraction to the girl or not, but Domeki and Himawari have a casual relationship which usually results in eating lunch together, or walking home together on rare occasions. Domeki can also easily get along with many other people, if they can handle his unique way of looking at situations.
Domeki also appears not to be the brightest of his friends on the surface. This is a bit contradicted, because he does in fact learn why he can not enter Yuuko's shop before anyone tells him otherwise. Domeki also knows how to trick and dupe Watanki into making him lunch even from just receiving the slightest injuries. He prefers to relate the spiritual occurrences that he comes into with tales his grandfather told him, in an attempt to make more sense out of the situations. Also, Domeki tends to be more observant then he lets on, but he rarely tends to relieve that information unless it is necessary.
Character's Background: Domeki, is really nothing more than the average popular kid. He easily wins the attention of the girl's at school, and is one of the best members of the kyudo club, which means "Way of the Bow" but is nothing more than an archery club. Domeki doesn't appear to have any real special merits at first, but this all changes when he meets Yuuko who appears to know more about Domeki then he himself.
When Yuuko, Watanuki, and Himawari all come to the temple to tell ghost stories something goes highly astray. Yuuko's barrier fails to hold up, and the ghosts had started to materalize behind the wall and went after Watanuki. Domeki is instructed to grab his bow and act as if he was shooting an arrow. Seeing it as pointless, he dose so as instructed anyway and miraculously Domeki was somehow able to form an arrow out of his spiritual energy and exercise the spirits.
Ever since then, Yuuko has decided to make Watanuki bring Domeki along on any jobs she asks of him, both in part to make them grow and change. Domeki, while still acting like he hates the idiot, has shown many instances where he puts his life on the line to save Watanuki.
The first time, Domeki saved Watanuki is when he caught Watanuki before he could fall off the school roof, despite having an already injured arm. The second time, Domeki tried to dig a hole under the Ajasai plant while trying to rescue Watanuki from the spirit that pulled him into the plant. The third instance where Domeki risked his safety for Watanuki is when Domeki grabbed the box cutter from the possessed girl bare handed. While he always put his own saftey at risk, Domeki exploited his kindness by having Watanuki repay him with bento box lunches.
Domeki also goes to some extremes to help out Watanuki. When Watanuki lost his right eye to the Spider Queen, after already giving up most of the sight to break a curse on Domeki, he glady offers Yuuko half the sight in his right eye to trade for Watanuki's sight. When Watanuki actually fell off the school building a second time. |
